Vagabond was released in 1985. The movie was written and directed by Agnès Varda, the acclaimed French director. Varda had been making films since the 1950s and had made a name for herself as a master storyteller who predated French New Wave cinema but helped create many of its stylistic tendencies. Vagabond, known in France as Sans Toit Ni Loi, tells the story of Mona Bergeron, played by Sandrine Bonnaire, who is a young woman who we meet after her tragic death. The film then works in reverse, telling her story as she tried to make her way through wine country in the south of France one winter. Like all of her movies, it was well received. It won several awards, including the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival. This original Vagabond movie poster, in great condition with some wear throughout and edge wear on the bottom left corner, promotes the film's release on videocassette.
