Vintage Mongo Santamaria "Live At S.O.B.'s" NYC Show Poster

Bandleader Mongo Santamaria began playing music at a young age in the early part of the 20th century, joining in bands in the late 30s. He left his home of Cuba to play in Mexico, ultimately moving to New York City in 1950. Santamaria helped bring African rhythms into the American jazz scene but didn't limit himself just to that as he was also known for playing salsa. Sadly, Santamaria passed away in 2003 at the age of 85 but he left behind a wonderful legacy. This original Mogo Santamaria poster, with some discoloration and wear around the edges as well as a few staple holes, is from a pair of concerts he played in New York at the club Sound Of Brazil.

Dimensions: 23" Wide by 29" Long
