In 1980, the Telecaster-slinging New Jersey singer Bruce Springsteen released The River, his fifth album. Bruce had already made it big and this album only furthered his celebrity status. The River went to #1 on Billboard's Top LP and Tape chart and was also nominated for a Grammy. It was exceptionally impressive because it was a double album. But it's songs, like "Hungry Heart" and "Independence Day," made it so such a long piece was necessary and important. This original Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band raglan shirt, nicely worn and faded with marks, is from their 1980/81 world tour in support of The River.
