Vintage Youth Of Today "Break Down The Walls" T-Shirt

Youth Of Today are a straight edge hardcore band founded in 1985. The band started in Danbury, CT but quickly moved to New York City, which was more suitable for the band's sonics anyway. You see, by 1985, hardcore's first wave, with bands like Minor Threat and SSD and Black Flag and Negative Approach and Agnostic Front, had ended. Some of those original bands were still around, but they were all moving away from that original, raw sound — the sound that people assumed was hardcore. YOT formed with the goal of bringing the scene back to that sound and putting their straight edge message at the forefront of it. Their first release, theCan't Close My Eyes 7", came out via Positive Force Records, the label ran by Kevin Seconds. It was a return to form but it was revolutionary. The band continued on five more years, releasing two LPs, Break Down The Walls on Wishing Well and We're Not In This Alone on Caroline, and another EP, Disengage on singer Ray Cappo's own Revelation Records, and in that time completely changed the entire landscape of the hardcore scene, from the way bands sounded to the way the way they dressed to what they wrote songs about. They have reunited many times since and are currently still playing shows to this day. This original Youth Of Today shirt is in great condition.
