The University Of Oklahoma was founded in 1890, before the state of Oklahoma even existed. The school, which is located in Norman, has since grown to be an enormous public university that is well regarded for its academics and is also well-known for its Native American Studies program. They are also well-regarded in sports. The Oklahoma Sooners have many impressive teams. Their wrestling team, women's and men's gymnastics, baseball, and softball have all won multiple national championships. And then, of course, there's their football team, home to seven Heisman winners and multiple NFL Hall Of Famers and seven national titles.
