Tom Waits, the bluesy singer songwriter with the raspy voice, released Mule Variations, his 13th album, on ANTI- in 1999. Waits had been performing since the early 70s and had gained a reputation for his Beat-influenced Americana. He spent a decade with major label Island Records in the 80s but jumped to ANTI-, a sister company to Brett Gurewitz from Bad Religion's punk label Epitaph, with this release. Waits has been with them ever since. Mule Variations won a Grammy for Best Contemporary Folk Album. This original Tom Waits shirt, with light wear and fade, is from his 1999 Get Behind The Mule Tour shirt in support of Mule Variations.
