2002 was a particularly successful year for Tom Petty. He released his 11th album, the Billboard-charting The Last DJ, and toured in support of it. He was also induced into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame that year. It makes sense, though. The Florida-born rocker had been in the public eye since the mid 70s, first with his band Mudcrutch and later with solo efforts, and even a little later with the supergroup The Traveling Wilburys. Petty played a classic style of rock n roll that was patient but assertive. It resonated with fans across the world, which is why sold over 80 million records. This original Tom Petty shirt, lightly worn and faded in excellent condition, is from his 2002 summer tour.
