Sarah Caldwell moved to Boston in 1952 and founded the Opera Company Of Boston shortly thereafter. The group operated until the 1990s, producing operas that were accessible to the community but challenging in their ideas. They would often stage several different productions during a season that weren't usually thought of as similar and Caldwell would create thought-provoking set design for all of them. The company won much praise for their work and innovation. This original Opera Company Of Boston poster, in good condition with wear and signs of aging, is from their 11th season.
