Nation Of Ulysses released Plays Pretty For Baby, their final and sophomore album, on Dischord Records in 1992. The band formed in 1988, first just calling themselves Ulysses, but the lineup changed a year later and so did the name. They were known for their all-encompassing ideology and aesthetic, which they distributed through a series of fanzines and their fiercely energetic live shows. Plays Pretty For Baby was produced by Ian MacKaye, just as their previous work, and cemented their spot as one of the most important bands from the DC scene.
