Vintage The Freedom's Journal & Shabazz Restaurants Present "Malcolm X Festival" Doug Carn Louis Farrakhan Globe Poster

Malcolm X was born in 1925. He advocated for Black empowerment, particularly through his involvement in the Nation of Islam, even though he left the organization in 1964. His ideology was largely disseminated through his speaking, his only written work during his lifetime being his autobiography which actually wasn't even released until shortly after his death. He was critical of the civil rights movement, as he had a problem with their nonviolence and other issues. Malcolm was assassinated on February 19, 1965. His impact was so huge that it's no surprise that Shabazz Restaurants and The Freedom's Journal hosted an annual festival in his honor, bringing together musicians and speakers to discuss the importance and asses his legacy and teachings. The fourth annual festival featured speakers Louis Farrakhan, Dr. Kahlid Abdul Muhammad, musucians Doug Carn and E. Larry McDuffie, and more. This original Malcolm X Festival poster printed by Globe Poster Printing Corp. is in great condition with surface wear and a small hole. All imperfections are displayed.
