The Exorcist is a horror movie from 1973. Written for the screen by William Peter Blatty based on a novel he wrote in 1971 and directed by William Friedkin, the film tells a horrifying tale of, you guessed it, a possessed 12-year old girl. It quickly became a part of mainstream culture, despite the fear it induced. The Exorcist spawned a franchise that stills runs to this day, but the possession scenes in the original film still stand out as some of the most iconic to this day, most notably when Regan projectile vomits into Father Karras's face.
