Texas Is The Reason was an emo band from New York City founded in 1994. Despite their earlier work with hardcore bands like 108, Shelter, and Ressurection, members Norman Brannon, Garret Klahn, Scott Winegard, and Chris Daly did something much more subdued and melodic. They were quickly signed to Revelation Records and released a debut, self-titled 7" in 1995. They followed it up with an LP the following year entitled Do You Know Who You Are? as well as two splits, one with Samuel and one with The Promise Ring. After receiving a lot of critical acclaim and interest from major record labels, the band broke up citing because of internal tension caused by these new pressures. However, after some time apart, they reunited for the 10 year anniversary of Do You Know Who You Are? as well as some sporadic shows afterwards. This original Texas Is The Reason shirt from their reunion era, in excellent condition, pays homage to their labelmates Chain Of Strength.
