Vintage Smashing Pumpkins "Mission To Mars" T-Shirt
The Smashing Pumpkins are an alt rock band from Chicago, IL. The group, led by guitarist/singer Billy Corgan, released their debut album Gish in 1991. They had formed only three years earlier and spent their time in the underground scene pulling influences from The Cure and New order. And then, after finding modest success, the band were signed to major label Virgin, thanks in part to the post-Nirvana boom, and recorded their sophomore album, again with producer Butch Vig. The record, 1993's Siamese Dream, found the band rocking harder than ever, with fuzzed out guitars and big choruses. The album was a huge success, going four-times Platinum in the US. It brought the band to the mainstream, where they have stayed ever since. Since then, the band has changed lineups, released nine more albums, broken up, and gotten back together. This original Smashing Pumpkins shirt, professionally alteredin great condition, is from the band's Siamese Dream era.
