Slipknot released their debut, self-titled album in 1999. The band had formed a few years earlier and had spent that gestation period crafting their hectic sound in Des Moines, IA. For their first record, they teamed up with producer Ross Robinson in LA. He helped create a chaotic yet refined sound as well as putting them in touch with Roadrunner Records. After its release, Slipknot went double platinum and basically helped jumpstart their career and a whole new style of music that was melodic yet dingy and scary. This original Slipknot poster from 1999, with corner wear and pinholes as well as some surface wear, is from the band's debut album.
