Ronald Reagan was elected president in 1981. He was a conservative actor responsible for a national shift to the right. His election also coincided with the rise of the new American hardcore punk scene, and the political situation was a major target for the music. For not only were the bands aggressive and weird, they were also vehemently opposed to right wing government. In 1984, a full US tour was organized as Rock Against Reagan where multiple bands participated in various legs, like Dead Kennedys, MDC, The Dicks, Crucifucks, and more. This original Rock Against Reagan shirt, nicely worn in great condition, is from the 1984 punk tour.
