Revelation Records is a hardcore label. Founded in 1987 by Youth Of Today's Ray Cappo and Jordan Cooper, the label originally focused its efforts on documenting the hardcore scene in New York City. Ray and Jordan were both from Connecticut, and the label was based out of New Haven, but the scene was in the city, with bands like WarZone, Sick Of It All, Gorilla Biscuits, and more. They made sure to press limited color vinyl for collectors like themselves. But they didn't just collect records, they collected toys as well. In the early days, you could trade your way to rare and collectible Rev records by mailing them vintage toys off their want list. They'd even stamp sleeves to denote a trade. One of their favorite toys to collect was the GI Joe, the original action figure. This original Revelation Records shirt, with light discoloration spots and fading on the print, features a fuzzhead GI Joe to pay homage to their early toy trading days.
