Q And Not U and Black Eyes were two bands from Washington, DC. Q And Not U formed in 1998 and Black Eyes in 2001, so they both came into their own in the early 2000s and both released records on the seminal Dischord label around the same time. While their sounds were decidedly different, Q And Not U were a little more dancier and Black Eyes were more abrasive, they both continued on the tradition of underground DC music established by bands like Fugazi: playing music with a message on their own terms that still had a groove. The pair tour together in the fall of 2003, right after Black Eyes released their debut album and while Q And Not U was in between their sophomore LP Different Damage and gearing up for their final album Power. Both bands broke up shortly after. This original tour poster, with a small tear on the corner and a few light marks, is from the Q And Not U, Black Eyes fall tour in 2003.
