While Public Image Ltd and The Smiths were both British bands from a similar, they were both very different from one another. PiL, the post-Sex Pistols band fronted by Johnny Rotten, played a repetitive and antagonistic groove, while The Smiths, the group featuring the iconic duo of Morrissey and Johnny Marr, played noodly and moody songs. Though despite their differences, they made for an amazing pairing of shows in the summer 1986. In just a few short weeks you could see both bands in the Washington, DC area, PiL at Warner Theatre and Smiths at GWU Smith Center. This original show flyer, with a few small tears and marks, advertises Public Image Ltd and Smiths shows in July and August of 1986.
