Elizabeth Wurtzel released her memoir Prozac Nation in 1994. Despite her successes — she was an alumni of Harvard and was a a pop music critic for The New Yorker and New York Magazine in the late 80s and early 90s — she still was unable to overcome her depression. Her memoir was a candid discussion of her struggles with depression throughout her life and her eventual treatment via the medication Prozac. The book became a best seller and stood as a generational manifesto, eventually being turned into a film starring Christina Ricci and Jason Biggs. Wurtzel continued working until her untimely death in 2020 after a battle with breast cancer. This vintage two-sided Prozac Nation tee, in great condition, satirically features Marilyn Monroe atop a pill.
