Playboy was founded as a magazine in 1953 by Hugh Hefner. Only seven years later, the brand expanded to include a chain of nightclubs. The first Playboy Club opened in Chicago. They quickly opened up clubs in nearly every major city in the US. At any one of the clubs, you would be greeted by Playboy bunnies and maybe even wowed by a magician. It was like, say, a more elegant Hooters. This vintage Playboy Club shirt, nicely worn in and faded, originally belonged to a staff member in 1984.
