Pioneer released the CDJ-500II in 1996. They had released their first CDJ two years prior and while it was a big change to get used to it ended up being a massive shift in the world of DJs. Playing music became much more portable and simple. The 500II featured an adjustable "loop out" point, a longer max loop length, and an overall faster performance. Improvements have continued to this day and the CDJ has only further cemented itself as the most important tool for any modern DJ.
