Skulls have long been used as symbol to connote many different ideas all lightly dancing around fear. A memonto mori. We've all got skulls, and when we're dead that's all that will be left of us. And to make it all worse, nobody even knows what happens to you when you die. So not only do these creepy looking objects remind us that we're all going to die, they also remind us that we don't even know what happens to us after. But there comes power in that. If you do not fear the skull, you yield the power. If you are not overwhelmed with anxiety from the skull, you can cover your pants with them and walk around cooly, essentially conquering death. These original all over print skull pants from the 1980s with elastic waistband are deadstock.
