WBC World Champion Oscar De La Hoya took on IBF World Champion Félix "Tito" Trinidad on September 18, 1999. The fight, one of the last major bouts of the 20th century, was organized by Don King and Bob Arum. Both fighters were undefeated at the time, De La Hoya was 31-0 and Trinidad was 35-0. After 12 rounds of boxing, Trinidad was declared the winner by majority decision. It was the most watched pay-per-view fight up until that point.
