Nike was founded in 1964. Originally known as Blue Ribbon Sports, the company, founded by Bill Bowerman and Phil Knight, has become one of the most successful brands in the world. They sell clothing and sporting goods and, of course, sneakers (including their great Air Max line created by Tinker Hatfield they debuted in 1987), all with their iconic "swoosh" logo. Because of their storied history and longevity, vintage Nike gear is always cool and always desirable.
