The Monsters Of Rock festival was founded in 1980. The idea was simple yet revolutionary — bring the best hard rock, specificallyhard rock, bands together in one place and let as many people come as possible. The inaugural fest was held in England and featured Rainbow, Judas Priest, Scorpions, and more. It grew in size and became an internationally touring festival. The fest even played Soviet Russia in 1991 in what was one of the largest concerts of all time with over 1.5 million people attending. This vintage tour shirt, lightly worn and nicely faded, is from the 1988 Monsters Of Rock US tour which featured Van Halen, Metallica, Scoprions, and more.
