Mitchell & Ness "Lou Gehrig" 1939 Cooperstown Collection New York Yankees Baseball Jersey
Lou Gehrig was a baseball player from the early 20th century. He spent his entire career, 1923-1939, with the New York Yankees, the team from his hometown. Gehrig had an impressively long list of accomplishments: .340 batting average, seven-time All Star, six-time World Series champ, three-time American League home run leader, and two-time American League MVP to name a few. Sadly, he retired at the age of 36 due to complications from ALS and died just a year later. Gehrig's prominence in the sport and in culture at large have only grown since his passing thanks to his contributions to baseball and his dedication to his team. This Mitchell & Ness Cooperstown Collection Jersey, deadstock with original tags still attached, is a faithful recreation of Lou Gehrig's 1939 jersey.
