Joan Miró was a Spanish artist. Born in 1893, Miró's art brought in influence from great contemporary artists and movements, combining elements of fauvism, cubism, and surrealism to create his own, unique style. Miró was known for his sculptures as well as his paintings, and has two museums in Spain dedicated to his work: the Fundació Joan Miró in Barcelona, built in 1975, and the Fundació Pilar i Joan Miró in Palma de Mallorca, built in 1981. His work was influential to the American abstract movement, with artists like Jackson Pollock and Mark Rothko citing him as an influence. Miró died in 1983 and has had several career retrospectives, including one in 2011 that toured the Tate Modern and Washington D.C.'s National Gallery of Art. This vintage single stitch shirt, in great condition, features a great Miró illustration. Tag is worn out so please refer to measurements for sizing.
