Michael Wolgemut was an artist from what is now modern-day Germany. Born in 1434, Wolgemut was integral in reviving the wood cut. And perhaps even more significant was that Wolgemut taught this skill to Albrecht Dürer, another famous printmaker. One of the famous images from his career was the Danse Macabre, or "Dance Of Death," from 1493. It originally appeared in Hartman Schede's book The Nuremberg Chronicle. This vintage shirt, deadstock in excellent condition, features a reproduction of Michael Wolgemut's Dance Of Death.
