Bay Area thrash legends Metallica began writing what would become Death Magnetic, their ninth album, in 2006, a few years after the release of St. Anger and its subsequent touring. While they were just starting to get into the studio groove, the band uprooted themselves for a fractured world tour that they dubbed "Escape From The Studio," a nod to a tour of the same name from 95 they did while they were recording Load. The 06 version of the tour saw the band heading to South Africa, playing a bunch of European festivals, as well as playing Japan and South Korea. This original Metallica shirt, in excellent condition, is from the "Escape From The Studio" tour in 2006.
