Mental were a hardcore band from Boston, MA founded in 2001. They released three 7"s and an LP, all through their own Lockin Out Records save for one EP. The band brought with them an appreciation of obscure NYHC, rap, and sneakers to create an entirely new aesthetic, one that would become the predominant style for the first part of the new millennia. In their wake, everyone was skanking low and reading Trumbull. Their sophomore EP, Get An Oxygen Tank!, was released by Bridge 9 Records in 2003, their only release not on Lockin Out. The 7" featured art by the legendary Sean Taggart, who was responsible for legendary covers by bands like Agnostic Front, Underdog, and The Jerky Boys. They also released a CD version which also compiled the songs from their debut 7" And You Know This. This original Mental poster, with pinholes and creasing, is from the 2003 release of Get An Oxygen Tank!
