L.L. Bean the human (real name Leon Leonwood Bean) founded L.L. Bean the clothing company in 1912 in Freeport, ME. Now, over a century later, the same clothing company is run out of the same town with the same goals: create simple, practical, nice-looking clothing that lasts.
