Kurt Angle's start in wrestling was different than most. After a successful career in freestyle wrestling, in which he won gold medals at the Olympics and World Championships, he was approached by the WWF. At the time, he though it was beneath him, but after watching some Monday Night Raw he gained respected for the athleticism of the wrestlers and their ability to entertain. So in 1998, Angle came on board the WWF and worked his way up through the ranks, eventually coming to be Champion yet again. He was a patriotic and switched between being a face and a heel. Regardless of what side he was on, people loved him. Kurt Angle is regularly regarded as one of the best wrestlers of the modern era.
