James Brown was an American singer and performer. Born in 1933, Brown had a career that spanned over 50 years. Known as the "Godfather Of Soul," James Brown helped usher in the funk sound with such songs as "Get Up (I Feel Like A) Sex Machine." James Brown was an original inductee to the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame as well as the Rhythm And Blues and Songwriters Hall Of Fame. He was known especially for his energetic, theatric, and amazing live shows, including his classic cape routine where he'd expend all his energy before being draped with an elaborate cape and exiting the stage. Sadly, Brown was a troubled man and often found himself tied up with the law. He was arrested several times throughout his life. This original shirt from the 80s, deadstock in great condition, advocates for the freeing of James Brown.
