Vintage Hugh Masekela "Leader Of Afro Jazz" New York Concert Poster
Hugh Masekela was a jazz trumpeter from South Africa. He began playing professionally in the late 50s and played well into the next century. Masekela had hits in the US, both jazz and pop, but he was also well known for his political music, which bluntly took issue with South Africa's apartheid. During his lifetime, he produced over 40 full length albums of many different styles and across many different labels. He also notably played in Paul Simon's Graceland band. Sadly, he passed away in 2018 at the age of 78. This original Hugh Masakela concert poster, in great condition with wear throughout as well as some staple holes from display, is from an exclusive New York concert at Sounds Of Brazil on June 4 and 5th with Kalahari.
