Government Cheese were a rock band from Bowling Green, KY. They were founded in 1985 by a group of students at Western Kentucky University. The group signed to Reptile Records in the late 80s where they released a "sort-of" live album and an EP. Despite their valiant efforts, the band never broke through to the mainstream, but they left behind a string of loyal and loving Southeast fans. Their reputation has only grown since then. The entire history of the band has since been chronicled in guitarist Tommy Womack's book Cheese Chronicles. This vintage Government Cheese shirt, heavy worn in, is a rare tee from the Kentucky band.
