The Animal Kingdom theme park in Disney World opened in 1998. The park opened on Earth Day and saw Walt Disney become vocal about their pro-environment and animal conservation stance. They featured some of their most popular characters from recent films like The Lion King and made some new rides, like Expedition Everst and Kilimanjaro Safaris as well as various shows and restaurants.
