Vintage Jonesknit "Cobras S.G.V." Varsity Car Club Jacket

Jone's Knitting Mills, from Los Angeles, California, was one of the many brands in midcentury America making blank jackets for schools, clubs, and businesses to embroider. Car Clubs in particular were known for their iconic jacket designs. This wool jacket with leather sleeves, dating to the 50s, is embroidered with the logo for the Cobras, a car club from the San Gabriel Valley of California. The front is also embroidered with the name of one of the club's members, Joe. Both the inner and outer are in great shape. Some wear/discoloration is visible on the embroidery on the back.
