The world famous Charlotte Motor Speedway opened in 1960. The track, a 1.5-mile oval, is home to many important NASCAR races including the Coca-Cola 600, Also Uniforms 300, and formerly home to such races as the Grand Prix Of Charlotte. It also features drag and dirt tracks. The complex is one of the busiest in the country, regularly hosting events and races.
