Bolt Thrower, the death metal band from Coventry, UK, released their debut album In Battle There Is No Law! in 1988. They had formed two years prior and had only firmly solidified their lineup before recording, getting Jo Bench on bass and shortly after her moving Karl Willetts from driver to singer. But what they got on tape was a completely new and well-crafted sonic idea: combining death metal with hardcore. The band went on to release seven more records during their nearly 30 year career. Sadly, Bolt Thrower has been inactive since 2016 after the death of their drummer Martin Kearns. This original Bolt Thrower shirt from 1988, nicely worn and faded with cracking on the print, features the art from their debut album In Battle There Is No Law!
