Nike started running the Bo Knows campaign in 1989. By that point in his career, Bo Jackson was already a Heisman Award winner and a dominant player with both the Los Angeles Raiders and the Kansas City Royals. That's two different sports if you didn't know, and both of them at the professional level. Bo was advertising his Nike shoe, the Air Max Trainer, and it worked, because we all still know this phrase.
