In 1983, Black Sabbath, the heavy metal icons who were formed by Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward way back in 1968, were in somewhat of a liminal period. Ozzy left the band in 1979 and was replaced by Ronny James Dio. Dio subsequently left the band in 1982. The band found a new singer: Ian Gillian, previously a member of Deep Purple. With a new singer, the band worked on a new album, Born Again, and got right back out on the road for a world tour in its support. The tour lasted for nearly a year and went all over Europe and North America and it notably featured an error from their manager when he got the band a Stone Henge set that was too large to fit on any stage. This original Black Sabbath raglan shirt, nicely worn in and faded with a few small ink spots on the shoulder, is from the band's 1983 World Tour in support of Born Again.
