Vintage Towncraft "JC Penney" Knit Polo Shirt

James Cash Penney opened his eponymous stores in the early 20th century. By that point he had already had a few years of experience. But Penney's store grew exponentially. In little over a decade they had over 150 stores across the country, and then by the middle of the century they had over 1,500. JC Penney wasn't just a store, though. They made their own clothes. One such brand was Towncraft, who made simple clothing for every day usage. This vintage Towncraft by JC Penney shirt is lightly worn with a small tear along the bottom seam.
