The Rolling Stones formed in 1962. They put out some big records in the 60s, but so was everyone. They were fresh and new and exciting, experimenting with sound as Mick and Keith formed a rapport and Brian Jones was off doing his own thing. They put out some great records in that decade, sure. But in the 70s, the 70s man, they really did it. In the 70s they gave us Sticky Fingers, Exile On Main St., and Some Girls. They had number one records. They had droves of fans. They had it all, and they just kept going and going making more great records and gaining more fans. Hell, they're still at it. But the 70s might be the heyday.
