Vintage SSD "The Kids Will Have Their Say" Youth Crew T-Shirt

SSD were a straight edge hardcore band from Boston, MA founded in 1981. While Minor Threat is credited with creating straight edge with their debut 7", SSD are credited with certainly toughening it up. It was no longer a personal philosophy but one in opposition to others. They released their first two LPs, The Kids Will Have Their Say and Get It Away, just two years apart in 1982 and 1984, respectively, on their own label, Xclaim! The band shifted styles to a more rock n roll heavy sound and released their final LP, Power, on Homestead Records in 1985. Since then, their sound and aesthetic has gone on to define entire scenes and styles, all while the band's personal relationship publicly deteriorated: singer Springa has tried to get the band back together without Al Barile who has regularly shot down and spoken out against these attempts. Regardless, their songs helped define early US hardcore, putting Boston on the map in the process. This vintage SSD fan made shirt from the 1980s, nicely faded and worn, features the cover to The Kids Will Have Their Say.
