It took a few years for Saw to get made. Australian director James Wan and writer Leigh Whannell dreamed up a simple horror movie that could be made on a tight budget, inspired by films likeThe Blair Witch Project, and moved forward from there, though they couldn't get any production company to pick up the film. They were told to shop the movie around Los Angeles and were met with positive receptions, eventually accepting an offer from Evolution Entertainment. The first Saw,which featured Danny Glover and the legendary Cary Elwes from Robin Hood Men In Tights, premiered in 2004 and made over $100 million at the box office. The Saw series continues to this day, but this vintage promo shirt, lightly worn in great condition, is from the earliest days.
