In 1970, documentary filmmakers Albert and David Maysles and Charlotte Zwerin released Gimme Shelter, a movie that followed the Rolling Stones on their 1969 US tour. The most significant part of the tour and of the documentary was the Altamont Free Concert, which has become infamous for the death of a concertgoer during the Stones' set. Gimme Shelter was screened at the Cannes Film Festival and is still well-regarded to this day for its depiction of the end of an important era: 1960's counterculture. This original Gimme Shelter promotional shirt from the early 80s, in good condition with light marks on the collar and print, features portraits of the Rolling Stones.
