My Chemical Romance released The Black Parade, their third album, in 2006. The band had already won mainstream success by that point with their vulnerable and angsty guitar music. Call it emo, call it pop punk, call it alt rock, whatever — it connected with people. It went to #2 on the Billboard Charts and has since been certified triple Platinum.
