Vintage Mike Tyson Vs. Evander Holyfield II "The Sound And The Fury" T-Shirt

In November 1996, Mike Tyson, defending WBA Heayweight champ, took on Evander Holyfield, two-time undisputed world champ. The match was a huge deal. It had over 1.5 million pay per view buys, making it one of the biggest events of the year by far. Holyfield came back and beat Tyson in the 11th round, making for one of the biggest upsets in boxing history. The pair decided to meet for the second time on June 28, 1997 at the MGM Grand Arena in Vegas, dubbed "The Sound And The Fury." The match was filled with aggression, especially on Tyson's behalf. At the start of the third round, Tyson came out and leaned into Holyfield, holding his arms in place at his side. Tyson bit into Holyfield's ear, spitting the piece on the ground. Holyfield jumped around the ring and the match was called. Tyson was disqualified and the match was awarded to Holyfield for the second time. This became one of the most notable events of the entire decade. Nothing like it has ever happened before or since. While Mike Tyson went down as one of the best boxers in history, the ear biting in 97 is one of his strangest and most important career moments. This original Mike Tyson Vs. Evander Holyfield match shirt, deadstock with original tags still attached, is from the 1997 fight where Tyson bit off Holyfield's ear.
