Masami was the singer of Ghoul, a Japanese punk band founded in the early 1980s. The band broke up and reformed twice, coming back with a slightly different lineup and even different names, like Ghoul II and Ghoul II as well as Sqwad. In 1989, during their third stint, Masami, known for his one hand and his raspy voice, fell ill during one of their shows and wound up in a coma. He tragically passed in 1992. The following year, the Japanese scene hosted a memorial show at the legendary Antiknock venue in Shinjuku featuring such bands as Gauze, Gorilla Slam, and Ghoul. This original boxy fitting In Memory Of Masami Ghoul shirt from 1993 is nicely worn and faded.
