Marion Barry was Washington DC's Mayor from 1979 to 1991. He was a prominent civil rights leader in the 1960s, one of the first activists to make it in a major political position. Despite Barry's popularity, he became an infamous figure when he was caught smoking crack cocaine in 1990. He was arrested and served a six-month sentence, later continuing his political career to DC's Council. This vintage Marion Barry shirt, deadstock with some ink blotting on some of the letters, wants to "throw the bum out!"
